【브레이크뉴스 대구 경북】박영재 기자=설 연휴 기간 대구·경북지역 고속도로와 공항 이용객이 크게 늘어날 전망이다. 귀성·귀경 차량과 여행 수요가 겹치면서 주요 도로와 공항 혼잡이 예상된다.
한국도로공사 대구경북본부에 따르면 13일부터 18일까지 엿새간 이어지는 설 연휴 기간 대구·경북지역 고속도로 일평균 교통량은 약 50만대로 추산된다. 이는 비교적 짧은 연휴 영향 등으로 전년 대비 9.1% 증가한 수치다.
특히 설 당일인 17일에는 귀경·성묘 차량이 겹치면서 교통량이 64만대에 달할 것으로 전망됐다.
도로공사 측은 정체가 예상되는 주요 구간에 갓길차로제와 임시차선을 운영하고, 도로전광판(VMS)을 통해 전방 교통상황과 우회 정보를 제공하는 등 교통 관리에 나설 계획이다.
공항 이용객도 크게 늘어날 것으로 보인다. 한국공항공사 대구국제공항은 설 연휴 기간 7만8천530명이 공항을 이용할 것으로 예상했다. 예상 운항 편수는 476편이다. 지난해 설 연휴와 비교해 일평균 여객 수는 25.9%, 운항 편수는 27.3% 증가했다.
이 가운데 국제선 이용객은 4만6천449명(279편)으로, 지난해보다 일평균 여객 수는 68.9%, 운항 편수는 75.5% 늘어난 것으로 집계됐다. 공항 측은 단거리 노선 중심의 여행 수요 회복과 공급 확대가 국제선 증가로 이어진 것으로 분석했다.
연휴 마지막 날인 18일에는 1만4천302명이 공항을 이용할 것으로 예상돼 가장 붐빌 전망이다. 공사는 여객이 집중되는 시간대에 수속 시설을 최대로 가동하고, 보안검색 및 탑승수속 안내 인력을 탄력적으로 배치하는 한편 여객 접점시설 점검도 강화할 방침이다.
한편, 15일 0시부터 18일 자정까지 지역 고속도로를 이용하는 모든 차량은 통행료가 면제된다. 해당 기간 운전자들은 평상시와 동일한 방법으로 고속도로를 이용하면 된다.
