【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 진천군은 진천읍 원도심 중심기능 회복을 목표로 추진 중인 ‘(구)전통시장 이전부지 개발사업’의 핵심 사업인 ‘진천 문화예술회관 건립사업’이 순항하고 있다고 19일 밝혔다.
진천 문화예술회관은 진천읍 읍내리 120-4번지 일원(부지면적 5,115㎡)에 총사업비 418억 5천만 원을 투입해 조성되는 대규모 문화기반시설이다.
연면적 7,824㎡, 지하 1층~지상 3층 규모로 건립되며, 중공연장과 소공연장을 비롯해 전시실, 연습실 등 다양한 문화·예술 공간이 들어설 예정이다.
해당 사업은 2023년 3월 착공 이후 현재 공정률 83%를 기록하며 안정적으로 추진되고 있다.
현재는 건축물 완성도를 높이기 위한 내·외부 마감공사가 본격적으로 진행 중이다.
군은 계획된 공정을 차질 없이 이행해 2026년 4월 준공을 목표로 사업을 마무리할 방침이다.
장인화 원도심개발TF팀장은 “문화예술회관 건립을 통해 원도심에 수준 높은 문화예술 인프라를 확충하고 문화특화도시로 도약할 수 있는 기반을 마련하게 될 것”이라며 “진천군의 문화와 예술을 대표하는 상징적 공간으로 완성될 수 있도록 내실 있게 사업을 추진하겠다”고 말했다.
