더불어민주당 충남·대전 통합 및 충청발전 특별위원회(이하 특위)가 22일 국민의힘을 겨냥해 “대전·충남 행정통합을 가로막고 지역발전을 훼방 놓는 행태를 즉각 중단하라”며 강력 비판했다.
특위는 이날 기자회견에서 “지역소멸 위기 속 국가균형발전을 위한 대전·충남 행정통합이 국민의힘의 정략적 반대로 좌초 직전”이라며 분노를 표출했다.
이들은 “불과 얼마 전까지 행정통합을 외치던 이장우 대전시장과 김태흠 충남지사가 이재명 정부의 20조 원 재정지원 패키지에 태도를 바꿔 ‘껍데기’, ‘누더기’라며 통합을 폄훼하고 있다”고 지적했다.
특위는 국민의힘 장악 시도의회가 “스스로 통과시킨 행정통합 찬성안을 원포인트 임시회에서 뒤집으며 의회민주주의를 유린했다”며 “누가 지시했는지 밝히라. 장동혁 대표냐, 이장우 시장이냐, 김태흠 지사냐”고 따졌다. 이어 “소신도 철학도 없이 민의를 배신한 국민의힘 시·도의원들은 전원 사퇴하라”고 촉구했다.

특위는 마지막으로 “국민의힘은 차별적 정치행태와 거짓 선동을 중단하고 대전·충남 미래에 동참하라. 동참 못 하겠다면 방해하지 말고 비켜서라”며 “시·도민의 인내는 한계에 다다랐다. 민의를 거스르면 준엄한 심판이 따를 것”이라고 강력 경고했다.
한편 충청특위는 23일 오전 11시 국회 본청 앞 계단에서 더불어민주당 충남대전통합및충청발전특위 위원, 충남도민, 대전시민 등 1000여 명이 참석하는 '충남·대전 미래 말살하는 국민의힘 규탄대회' 를 개최 한다고 밝혔다.
