【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 증평군이 107년 전 일제의 총검 앞에서도 멈추지 않았던 독립의 외침을 다시 불러낸다.
군은 오는 3월 1일, 지역에서 유일하게 만세운동이 전개됐던 도안면 광덕리 구계마을에서 제107주년 3·1절 기념식을 개최한다고 밝혔다.
이번 기념식은 증평에 깃든 독립운동의 역사를 되돌아보고 미래 100년을 향한 비전을 군민과 함께 그리기 위해 마련됐다.
광덕리 독립 만세운동은 1919년 4월 10일 오후 5시경, 주민 300여 명이 태극기를 들고 거리로 나서며 시작됐다.
일본 경찰의 강제 진압 과정에서 1명이 순국하는 아픔을 남겼지만, 이 만세운동은 오늘날까지 증평의 항일 역사로 이어지고 있다.
당시 상황은 일제강점기 원문 사료인 조선소요사건관계서류에 그대로 기록돼 있다.

올해 기념식에서는 기념사, 독립선언서 낭독, 만세삼창 등을 통해 선열들의 희생과 애국정신을 기릴 예정이다.
특히 참석자 전원이 함께 외치는 만세삼창은 107년 전 광덕리를 가득 채웠던 함성을 현재로 불러오는 상징적인 장면이 될 것으로 기대된다.
