2월 27일부터 한 달간 신청 접수, 1100여 명에 최대 100만 원 혜택

대전광역시가 학자금 대출로 경제적 어려움을 겪고 있는 지역 청년들의 상환 부담을 줄이고 학업에 전념할 수 있도록 ‘2026년 대학생 학자금대출 이자지원 사업’을 추진한다.
이번 사업은 한국장학재단에서 받은 학자금 대출로 인해 2025년 한 해 동안 발생한 이자 상환액을 대전시가 대신 지급해 주는 것이 골자다. 시는 올해 총 1억 6,250만 원의 예산을 투입해 약 1,100여 명의 대학생 및 대학원생에게 혜택을 제공할 계획이다.
지원 대상은 대전 소재 대학(대학원 포함)에 재학 중인 학생을 비롯해 휴학생과 졸업유예생까지 포함한다. 타 지역 대학에 다니고 있더라도 본인 또는 부모 등 직계존속이 공고일 기준으로 1년 이상 대전에 주민등록이 되어 있다면 지원을 받을 수 있다.
