다만 시설수급자와 이미 난방비 지원을 받은 노인 및 장애인 가구는 지원 대상에서 제외된다.
지급 방식은 기존에 현금 복지급여를 받고 있는 가구의 경우 별도 신청 없이 기존 복지급여 계좌로 자동 입금되며, 압류방지 통장 사용 가구나 현금 복지급여를 받지 않는 가구 등은 개별 계좌 확인 절차를 거쳐 지급이 이뤄질 예정이다.
신청이 필요한 경우에는 주소지 관할 행정복지센터를 방문하거나 전화로 접수할 수 있으며, 방문 신청 시에는 신분증과 통장 사본을 지참해야 한다.
