대전·충남 행정통합 중단 강력 비판… “대구·경북은 생존 위해 재추진, 대전만 역행”

더불어민주당 대전광역시당이 교착 상태에 빠진 대전·충남 행정통합과 관련해 이장우 대전시장과 김태흠 충남도지사를 향해 날 선 비판을 쏟아냈다.
민주당은 두 단체장이 자신의 정치적 입지를 지키기 위해 지역의 백년대계를 내팽개치고 있다고 규정하며 즉각적인 태도 변화를 촉구했다.
민주당 대전시당은 26일 논평을 통해 “광주·전남이 통합의 날개를 달고, 대구·경북이 지역 소멸의 위기감 속에 다시 힘을 모으는 것과 달리, 이장우 시장과 김태흠 지사는 통합을 멈춰 세우며 지역의 명운을 방치하고 있다”고 질타했다.
특히 두 단체장이 통합 법안을 ‘졸속’, ‘빈 껍데기’라고 비하하는 것에 대해 “억지 논리에 불과하다”고 일축했다.
