대전 지역의 고액·상습 체납자들이 발붙일 곳이 좁아질 전망이다. 대전경찰청과 대전지방국세청이 조세 정의 실현과 공적 부담의 형평성 제고를 위해 강력한 공조 체계를 가동하기로 했다.
최주원 대전경찰청장과 정용대 대전지방국세청장은 지난 26일 간담회를 열고 실효성 있는 체납액 일수 방안을 논의했다. 양 기관은 단순한 정보 공유를 넘어 현장 중심의 공조를 강화하고, 강제 징수 과정에서 발생할 수 있는 물리적 충돌 등 돌발 상황에 공동 대응하기로 합의했다.
특히 대전경찰청은 오는 6월 ‘추적징수팀’을 별도로 신설한다.
이 팀은 국세청이 오랫동안 축적해 온 체납자 재산 추적 기법과 정보 분석 노하우를 전수받아 현장에 투입될 예정이다. 국세청의 베테랑 실무진이 경찰 측 담당자들에게 직접 징수 기법을 교육하는 등 실전 역량 강화에 힘을 보탠다.
현재 대전경찰청이 확인 한 체납액 규모는 300억 원 중반대로 집계됐다.
이 중 95억 원을 징수하며 26.8%의 징수율을 기록하고 있는데, 이는 전국 평균인 21.8%를 5%포인트 상회하는 수치다.
이러한 성과를 바탕으로 최주원 청장은 체납 과태료 징수에 기여한 직원들의 노고를 격려했다. 특히 지난해 우수 관서로 선정된 서부·유성경찰서 담당 행정관들을 초청해 포상과 기념품을 전달하며 사기를 북돋웠다.
경찰은 6월 추적징수팀이 정식 발족하기 전에도 단속의 고삐를 늦추지 않겠다는 입장이다. 교통경찰은 물론 암행순찰차, 싸이카, 기동대, 지역경찰 등 가용할 수 있는 모든 경력을 동원해 체납 차량과 고액 체납자를 압박할 계획이다.
