국민의힘 대전광역시당이 행정통합 법안 보류에 반발해 천막농성에 돌입한 더불어민주당을 향해 “적반하장식 선동을 멈추고 시민 앞에 책임 있는 설명부터 하라”며 날선 비판을 쏟아냈다.
국민의힘 대전시당은 27일 발표한 논평을 통해 민주당이 주장하는 ‘4년간 최대 20조 원 지원’의 허구성을 집중 추궁했다.
대전시당은 “대통령 발언 이후 불과 두 달 만에 급조된 법안에는 대전에 어떤 권한이 이양되는지, 시민 삶에 어떤 변화가 있는지에 대한 설명이 전혀 없다”며 “20조 원이라는 숫자만 앞세운 전형적인 ‘재포장 예산’ 아니냐”고 의구심을 제기했다.
특히 “최대 20조 원이라면 최소는 얼마인지, 기존 예산 외에 실제로 늘어나는 재정은 얼마인지 시민의 질문에 민주당은 답하지 못하고 있다”며, “일자리와 돈이 몰려온다”는 식의 홍보를 주술적 선동으로 규정했다.
대전시당은 통합법 보류의 책임이 민주당에 있음을 분명히 했다. 대전 지역 국회의원 7명 전원이 민주당 소속이고 180석의 압도적 다수 의석을 가진 집권 여당이 스스로 추진한 법안을 처리하지 못한 것을 야당 탓으로 돌리는 것은 이치에 맞지 않는다는 지적이다.

또한 “민주당이 광주·전남을 위해 대전을 희생양 삼으려 한다는 의구심이 든다”며 “이제라도 양심이 있다면 천막 선동이 아니라 시민 앞에 서서 졸속 추진에 대해 사과하고 책임 있는 설명을 하라”고 촉구했다.
