교육부와 보건복지부가 후원하는 이번 공모전은 초등학생들이 금연의 중요성을 느끼고 건강한 생활습관을 기를 수 있도록 마련됐다. 올해 공모 주제는 ‘나도 건강하게! 지구도 건강하게! 함께 건강 약속’으로, 금연은 물론 올바른 식습관과 운동, 정서 관리, 환경 보호 등 다양한 건강 실천 내용을 폭넓게 담을 수 있도록 했다.
참가 대상은 전국의 초등학교 1학년부터 6학년까지 모든 학생이다. 공모 분야는 글짓기(생활글·동시)와 그림(8절 도화지에 손 그림) 두 부문이며, 작품 접수는 우편 또는 방문을 통해 할 수 있다.
심사는 창의성, 주제 적합성, 표현력, 전달력 등을 기준으로 이뤄지며, 부문별로 총 250명의 수상자가 선정된다. 교육부와 보건복지부 장관상 등 다양한 상이 수여될 예정이다. 수상 결과는 5월 20일 한국건강관리협회와 소년한국일보 홈페이지에 공개된다.
한국건강관리협회 관계자는 “금연을 출발점 삼아 아이들이 건강한 삶의 가치를 직접 생각해보는 계기가 되길 바란다”며 “가정과 학교가 함께 참여하는 생활 속 건강 교육의 장으로 꾸준히 이어가겠다”고 말했다.
