핵심 공약으로는 K2 군공항 이전 이후 해당 부지에 관광·산업 복합단지 조성, 금호강 관광특구 조성, 도시철도 4호선 조기 착공, 안심뉴타운 인프라 확충, 제2의료원 유치 등을 제시했다. 특히 우 예비후보는 “K2 이전은 단순한 시설 이전이 아니라 동구의 50년 경쟁력을 좌우할 대전환”이라고 힘주어 말했다.
또한 기업인 출신 경력을 내세워 세부상사 대표와 메가젠임플란트 부사장으로 40년간 현장을 지키며 쌓은 경영 경험이 자신의 강점이라고 밝혔다. 그는 “행정도 경영처럼 실행과 성과로 평가받아야 한다”고 말하며, 영남대학교 대학원 사회학 박사과정 수료 경험을 언급해 지역과 사회 구조에 대한 이해를 드러냈다.
우 예비후보는 “공약보다 실행, 말보다 결과를 중시하겠다”며 “청년이 떠나지 않고 머무는 도시, 가족이 돌아오는 동구를 반드시 만들겠다”고 강조했다.

He stated, "Administration, like management, should be evaluated on execution and performance," and highlighted his experience completing a doctoral program in sociology at Yeungnam University, demonstrating his understanding of regional and social structures.
Candidate Woo emphasized, "I will prioritize action over promises and results over words. I will make Dong-gu a city where young people stay and families return."
