[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 통영시가 2026년을 “함께 준비한 미래, 확 달라진 통영”을 시정 방향으로 민선8기 핵심 사업을 차질 없이 마무리 한다는 계획이다.
또한 통영의 미래 성장 기반을 마련할 장기 사업과 시민이 일상에서 체감할 단기 사업을 함께 추진해 나간다고 4일 밝혔다.
시는 한산대첩교 건설사업이 올해 확정될 제6차 국도 국지도 건설 5개년 계획에 최종 반영될 수 있도록 관계 부처와 긴밀히 협력해 모든 역량을 집중한다.
또한 해양수산부 공모에 선정된 복합해양레저관광도시 조성사업 은 도남동 도산면 일원에 요트 숙박 레저 기능이 융합된 글로벌 관광거점을 조성하는 대형 프로젝트로 총사업비 1조 1400억원 규모로 추진된다.
시는 지난 2월 착수보고회를 시작으로 통영만의 강점을 살린 실효성 있는 사업모델을 구체화해 ‘글로벌 해양도시 통영’실현에 속도를 낸다.
KT 통영역세권 개발과 배후도시 조성도 본격 추진한다.
철도 개통에 맞춰 교통체계를 완성하기 위해 상습 정체 구간인 용남면 장문리~무전동 관문사거리 구간 혼잡 해소를 우선 과제로 삼고 터널을 포함한 왕복 2차로 개설 공사의 설계를 조속히 마무리한다.
아울러 국도14호선 죽림~무전 구간 도로 확장 및 차선 조정 사업과 통영역사 진입로 개선, 주요 교차로 확장 등 주변 교통망 구축도 차질 없이 추진해 KT 개통 효과가 지역경제로 이어지도록 관계기관과 협력을 강화한다.
시민 체감도를 높이기 위한 생활 밀착형 시책도 속도감 있게 추진한다.
스포츠 대회 전지훈련 유치 등 지역경제 활성화 사업을 지속하고 청년 가족 교통약자 지원 정책과 도천 도시재생지구 생활밀착형 스마트기술을 통해 일상 속 변화를 확대할 계획이다.
국제 행사도 대비한다. 시는 오는 16일부터 7일간 ‘2025-26 클리퍼 세계일주 요트대회’통영 기항지 행사를 개최하며 안전사고 예방을 위한 현장 점검과 함께 시가지 환경정비, 숙박 음식점 등 다중이용시설의 위생 청결 관리를 강화한다.
