그는 생활과 밀접한 공약을 내세우며, 실천 중심의 행정을 약속했다. 이날 이 전 구청장은 “멈춰 선 수성구의 시간을 다시 움직이겠다”며 수성못 사업 전면 재검토, 수성유원지 민간자본 재정비, 구청사 복합청사 재건축 등 주요 과제를 제시했다.

그는 출마 이유에 대해 “비판에 머무르지 않고 직접 책임지는 사람이 되겠다”고 강조했다. 이어서 “수성구는 수성못 사업 논란, 구청사 이전의 장기 표류, 수성유원지 기능 약화 등 여러 현안에 복잡하게 얽혀 있다”며, 결정을 미루다 보면 비용 부담이 커지고, 소통이 부족하면 갈등만 깊어진다고 지적했다. “행정의 공백이 결국 구민의 생활 불편으로 이어지고 있다”고 덧붙였다.
