대전 동구, ‘지방세 체납액 현장 결제 서비스’ 도입

대전 동구는 지방세 체납자의 납부 편의를 높이고 체납액 징수의 효율성을 강화하기 위해 이달부터 ‘지방세 체납액 현장 결제 서비스’를 운영한다고 4일 밝혔다.

이번 서비스는 금융결제원이 제공하는 ‘지방세 신용카드 납부서비스’ 모바일 애플리케이션을 활용해 체납자의 과세 정보를 현장에서 즉시 확인하고, 신용카드로 지방세를 바로 납부할 수 있도록 지원하는 동구 자체 세무 행정 시책이다.

그동안 자동차 번호판 영치 등 체납 징수 과정에서 납부를 원하더라도 금융기관이나 구청을 직접 방문하거나 가상계좌를 이용해야 하는 번거로움이 있었다. 현장에서는 즉시 결제할 수 있는 수단이 없어 납부 의사가 있음에도 절차가 지연되는 사례도 적지 않았다.

동구는 이러한 불편을 해소하기 위해 현장에서 체납액 조회와 카드 결제, 수납 확인, 번호판 반환까지 일괄 처리할 수 있는 시스템을 구축했다. 이를 통해 납세자의 편의를 높이는 동시에 현장 중심의 체납 징수 실효성도 강화될 것으로 기대하고 있다.

박희조 동구청장은 주민들이 장소에 구애받지 않고 간편하게 세금을 납부할 수 있는 환경을 마련하는 것이 중요하다며, 앞으로도 주민이 체감할 수 있는 스마트 세무 행정서비스를 지속적으로 확대해 현장 중심의 세정 운영을 강화하겠다는 뜻을 전했다.
