【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=4일 오후, 대구·경북 시도민 1,500여 명이 서울 여의도 국회 본청 앞에 모여 '대구·경북 행정통합특별법'의 신속 처리와 국회 통과를 촉구하는 결의대회를 열었다.
이날 결의대회는 수도권 집중이 심화되고 지역 소멸 위기가 이어지는 가운데, 대구·경북의 경쟁력을 높이고 국가 균형발전의 전기를 마련하기 위해 마련됐다. 참석자들은 행정통합특별법의 조속한 국회 통과가 반드시 필요하다는 지역민들의 절박한 의지를 한목소리로 전달했다.
행사장에는 국민의힘 소속 대구·경북 국회의원들과 이철우 경북도지사가 자리해 특별법의 신속하고 원활한 처리를 촉구했다. 의원들은 민주당의 법안 심의 지연을 '국민 분열 조장'과 '지역 갈라치기'로 규정하며 강하게 비판했다.
이인선 대구시당위원장과 구자근 경북도당위원장은 이날 규탄사에서 “국회가 지역민의 절실한 요구를 외면해선 안 된다”며 “하루빨리 대구·경북 행정통합특별법을 통과시켜야 한다”고 강조했다. 이날 행사에는 장동혁 당대표도 참석해 함께 힘을 보탰다.
참석자들은 결의대회 직후 “특별법이 제정될 때까지 대구·경북 모든 시도민이 힘을 모아 연대하고 지속적으로 행동에 나설 것”이라고 밝혔다.
이날 행사에는 대구 지역 주호영, 윤재옥, 김상훈, 추경호, 강대식, 권영진, 김승수, 김기웅, 유영하, 최은석, 우재준, 김위상 의원과, 경북 지역 김석기, 이만희, 임이자, 김정재, 정희용, 강명구, 조지연, 이달희 의원 등이 참석했다.
국민의힘 대구시당·경북도당은 “대구·경북의 행정통합은 지역의 생존과 국가의 균형발전을 위한 필수 과제”라며 “국회가 더 이상 머뭇거리지 말고 특별법 처리를 적극적으로 추진해야 한다”고 거듭 강조했다.

The People Power Party's Daegu City Chapter and Gyeongbuk Provincial Chapter repeatedly emphasized, "Administrative integration of Daegu and Gyeongbuk is an essential task for the region's survival and the nation's balanced development," and "The National Assembly must no longer hesitate and actively pursue the passage of the special law."
