농산물우수관리인증(GAP, Good Agricultural Practices)은 농산물의 생산부터 수확, 포장, 판매 단계까지 농약·중금속·미생물 등 위해요소를 체계적으로 관리해 소비자에게 안전한 농산물을 공급하기 위한 국가 인증 제도다.
이번 교육에서는 ▲GAP 인증 제도 및 관련 규정 이해 ▲농약 허용물질목록 관리제도(PLS) 안내 ▲당면 영농 과제 및 농정 시책 홍보 등 농업 현장에서 필요한 실무 중심의 내용이 다뤄졌다.
영천시는 올해부터 농업인의 교육 참여 기회를 확대하기 위해 분기별 150명 규모로 교육을 운영하고, 연간 총 600명에게 교육을 제공할 계획이다. 집합교육 참석이 어려운 농업인은 농업교육포털 온라인 교육을 통해 연중 교육을 이수할 수 있다.
최재열 농업기술센터 소장은 “GAP 인증은 소비자 신뢰 확보와 지역 농업 경쟁력 강화를 위해 반드시 필요한 제도”라며 “체계적인 교육 지원을 통해 농업인의 안전 농산물 생산 역량을 높이고 농가 소득 증대에도 기여할 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
한편 GAP 기본교육은 신규 인증 또는 갱신을 희망하는 농가는 2년마다 반드시 이수해야 하며, 차기 교육 신청은 분기별 교육 시작 30일 전부터 농업기술센터 기술지원과 작물와인팀(054-339-7386)을 통해 전화로 신청할 수 있다.

Meanwhile, farms seeking new or renewed certification must complete basic GAP training every two years. Applications for subsequent training sessions can be made by phone to the Agricultural Technology Center's Technical Support Division's Crop and Wine Team (054-339-7386) starting 30 days prior to the start of each quarterly training session.
