충남 서산시가 전국 지자체 최초로 드론 배송 상용화 서비스를 3월 6일부터 본격 시작한다고 밝혔다.
가로림만 지역 섬 주민과 관광객의 편의를 위해 고파도·우도·분점도·벌천포해수욕장·삼길포 좌대 낚시터 등으로 물품을 드론이 직접 전달한다.
서비스는 수요가 몰리는 금·토·일요일에 하루 9회씩 운영되며, 지역화폐 연계 앱으로 간편 주문이 가능하다. 드론은 단순 배송에 그치지 않고 카메라 장착으로 지역 순찰·사고 예방 모니터링까지 겸한다.
상반기 내 야간 시간대 확대와 함께 보건의료용(비대면 진료 약품 배송), 택배 실증도 추진된다. 서산시는 이를 통해 섬 주민 생활 편의와 미래 기술 선도에 앞장선다는 계획이다.
