안양시 인재육성재단(이사장 최대호)은 지난 2월 27일 스마트비지니스클럽(총동문회장 이재화)의 지정기탁 기부금을 재원으로 선발된 지정장학생에게 장학증서와 총 500만 원의 장학금을 수여했다고 4일 밝혔다.
이번 수여식은 스마트비지니스클럽 2026년 정기총회 공식 일정 중 하나로 진행됐으며, 기부와 인재 육성의 의미를 함께 나누는 자리로 마련됐다.
스마트비지니스클럽은 안양 지역 기업인과 경영자들이 참여하는 네트워크 단체로, 회원 간 협력과 정보 교류는 물론 지역사회 공헌 활동을 지속해오고 있다. 이번 장학금 역시 지역 인재 성장을 지원하자는 회원들의 뜻이 모여 조성됐다.
이번에 선발된 장학생은 대학생 2명으로, 1인당 250만 원씩 지원된다. 두 학생은 학업과 함께 재능기부 활동에도 적극 참여해 온 것으로 전해졌다.
이재화 총동문회장은 “어려운 여건 속에서도 지역 인재들이 잠재력을 펼칠 수 있도록 돕고자 회원들과 뜻을 모았다”며 “이번 장학금이 단순한 지원을 넘어 지역사회의 응원이 되길 바란다”고 말했다.
김문섭 교육원장은 “성장 가능성과 열정을 가진 학생들을 발굴하고 지원하는 것은 기업인의 사회적 책무”라며 “앞으로도 지역 인재 육성을 위한 지원 체계를 확대하겠다”고 밝혔다.
이병준 인재육성재단 대표이사는 “지역사회 발전을 위해 나눔을 실천해 준 스마트비지니스클럽에 감사드린다”며 “재단도 우수 인재 발굴과 육성을 통해 지역과 함께 성장하는 교육환경을 조성해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
