박수현 더불어민주당 의원(충남 공주·부여·청양)이 6일 충남도청에서 충남·대전통합특별시장 출마를 공식 선언하며, 지역 소외 극복과 AI 대전환 주도 의지를 밝혔다. 그는 "충남과 대전 통합은 선택이 아니라 대한민국 제2 성장축을 여는 필수 전략"이라고 강조했다.
박 의원은 경부선 철도 우회와 국가투자 배제 등 충남의 역사적 소외, 세종시 출범 후 인구·기능 유출로 고통받은 대전의 현실을 지적했다. "지역이 고단하면 사람이 떠나고, 사람이 떠나면 지역이 사라진다. 이 악순환을 끊는 것이 정치의 사명"이라며 통합의 시급성을 역설했다.
박수현 의원은 이재명 정부 국정기획위 균형성장특별위원장으로 직접 설계한 '5극 3특 국가균형성장 전략'을 언급하며 "충남·대전 통합은 수도권 일극 체제를 넘어 다섯 성장거점·세 전략특구로 재편하는 국가전략의 핵심"이라고 밝혔다.
"설계자가 현장에서 완성해야 현실이 된다"며 통합특별시장 당선 시 초대 시장으로, 불발 시 충남도지사로 대전시장과 협력해 반드시 완수하겠다고 공약했다.
AI를 "새 시대 공공인프라"로 규정하며 충남 석탄 인프라를 청정에너지·AI 거점으로, 재생에너지 기반 스마트농업, 대전·충남 산업벨트 AI 스마트제조, 반도체·모빌리티 초광역 생태계, KAIST·ETRI·국방과학연구소 연계 국방 AI 허브 조성을 제시했다.
