대한적십자사 경북지사(회장 김재왕)는 진보종합정비(대표 권오갑)가 ‘씀씀이가 바른기업’ 캠페인에 참여해 지역 내 취약계층과 재난 이재민을 돕기 위한 정기 후원을 시작했다고 9일 밝혔다.
‘씀씀이가 바른기업’은 기업이 매월 20만 원 이상의 정기 후원을 통해 복지 사각지대에 놓인 이웃과 재난 피해 이재민을 지원하는 대한적십자사의 대표 나눔 프로그램이다.
1999년 문을 연 진보종합정비는 그동안 지역 주민들의 안전한 차량 운행을 책임져 온 정비업체로, 이번 캠페인 참여를 통해 지역사회 복지 안전망 구축에도 힘을 보태게 됐다.
권오갑 대표의 나눔 활동은 지역사회 위기 상황에서도 이어져 왔다. 그는 2022년 동해안 대형 산불 당시 대한적십자사에 성금 100만 원을 기탁한 데 이어, 지난해 발생한 경북 대형 산불 피해 복구를 위해 청송군과 영양군에 각각 1,000만 원씩 총 2,000만 원의 성금을 전달하며 피해 주민들의 일상 회복을 지원했다.
또 경북북부 제1교도소 교정협의회 전 회장이자 교정위원으로 활동하며 수용자들에게 정비 현장 견학 기회를 제공하는 등 교정·교화 활동에도 힘써 왔다. 이 밖에도 범죄예방위원과 진보남성의용소방대 방호부장 등을 맡아 화재 예방과 청소년 범죄 예방 등 지역 안전 활동에도 적극 참여해 왔다.
특히 2010년부터는 수형자와 함께하는 ‘보라미 봉사활동’에 참여하는 등 지역사회 공동체 회복에 기여한 공로를 인정받아 2025년 ‘올해의 신한국인 대상’ 사회공헌인 부문을 수상하기도 했다.
권오갑 대표는 “차량의 작은 결함을 방치하면 큰 사고로 이어지듯 우리 사회의 소외된 이웃을 살피는 일도 때를 놓쳐서는 안 된다”며 “앞으로도 대한적십자사와 함께 지속 가능한 나눔을 실천하며 지역이 함께 웃을 수 있는 따뜻한 공동체를 만드는 데 힘쓰겠다”고 말했다.
김재왕 대한적십자사 경북지사 회장은 “지역 기업들의 꾸준한 나눔은 재난 발생 시 신속한 구호 활동과 취약계층 지원의 중요한 기반이 된다”며 “권 대표의 따뜻한 후원이 도내 복지 사각지대를 밝히는 희망의 씨앗이 되도록 투명하게 사용하겠다”고 밝혔다.
