니트(NEET)는 교육(Education)·고용(Employment)·직업훈련(Training)에 속하지 않은 청년을 의미한다.
이번 사업은 지역의 고립·니트 청년(19~39세) 50명을 대상으로 실제 일 경험과 현장 체험 기회를 제공해 사회 진입 동기를 높이고 궁극적으로 취업 등 노동시장 진입을 돕기 위해 마련됐다.
프로그램은 2단계 과정으로 운영된다. 1단계 체험형 과정은 40명을 대상으로 4주간 하루 4시간씩 직무 현장을 체험하는 방식으로 진행된다. 2단계 인턴형 과정은 체험형 수료자 중 기업과의 협의를 거쳐 선발된 10명이 참여하며, 12주 동안 하루 8시간 실제 업무를 수행하는 심화 과정이다.
참여 청년에게는 체험형 과정 100만 원, 인턴형 과정 600만 원의 참여 수당이 지급된다. 또한 체험형에서 인턴형으로 연계될 경우 참여 기업에는 매칭된 청년 1인당 월 30만 원의 전담 멘토 수당이 지원된다.
대구시는 고립·니트 청년들이 직장 적응과 사회활동에 어려움을 겪는 점을 고려해 상대적으로 규모가 크지 않은 사업장을 중심으로 참여 기업을 선정할 계획이다. 이를 통해 기업은 단순 업무 보조를 넘어 청년에게 실무 경험과 조언을 제공하고, 청년은 일상 회복과 성취감을 얻는 ‘상생형 일 경험 모델’을 구축한다는 방침이다.
참여 업체 모집은 3월 10일부터 24일까지 진행된다. 신청은 대구광역시 청년센터 홈페이지와 대구 청년 커뮤니티 포털 젊프를 통해 온라인으로 접수할 수 있다. 신청 대상은 대구 지역의 사회적기업, 비영리단체(공공기관 포함), 소규모 사업장 등이다.
시는 신청 업체를 심사해 3월 말 1차 적격 업체 30~40곳을 선정하고, 이후 참여 청년과의 매칭 절차를 거쳐 5월 초 최종 참여 업체를 확정할 예정이다.
참여 청년 모집은 3월 30일부터 시작되며 총 50명을 선발한다. 청년과 기업 간 대면 면접을 통해 5월 초 최종 매칭을 진행하고, 본격적인 현장 체험은 5월 중순부터 시작된다.
권건 대구광역시 청년정책과장은 “이번 사업이 고립·니트 청년들이 사회적 지지망 속에서 실무 역량을 쌓고 사회로 나아가는 징검다리가 되길 바란다”며 “청년들에게 따뜻한 울타리가 되어줄 지역 기업과 잠시 쉬고 있는 청년들의 많은 관심과 참여를 부탁한다”고 말했다.

The second-stage internship program will be an intensive 12-week program, with 10 participants selected through consultation with companies from among those who completed the experiential program. Participants will work eight hours a day on actual tasks.
Participating youth will receive a participation stipend of 1 million won for the experiential program and 6 million won for the internship program. Furthermore, if the experiential program transitions to an internship, participating companies will receive a dedicated mentor stipend of 300,000 won per youth per month.
Considering the difficulties faced by isolated and NEET youth in adjusting to the workplace and participating in social activities, the Daegu City government plans to select participating companies primarily from relatively small businesses. Through this program, companies will go beyond simple job assistance to provide practical experience and advice to youth, while youth will regain their daily lives and find a sense of accomplishment.
Recruitment for participating companies will be open from March 10th to 24th. Applications can be submitted online through the Daegu Metropolitan City Youth Center website and the Daegu Youth Community Portal, Youp. Eligible applicants include social enterprises, non-profit organizations (including public institutions), and small businesses in the Daegu area.
The city will review the applicants and select a first round of 30-40 qualified companies by the end of March. Following this, the city plans to match them with participating young people and finalize the list in early May.
Recruitment for young people will begin on March 30th, with a total of 50 applicants selected. The final matching will take place in early May through face-to-face interviews between the young people and companies, and the actual field experience will begin in mid-May.
