[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 경남 최초 만세운동이 일어난 칠북면 칠서초등학교 이령분교에서 '제107주년 칠북3 1만세운동 기념문화제'가 9일 칠북3 1독립기념회 주관으로 개최됐다.
이날 행사는 연개장터 만세운동을 널리 알리고 역사적으로 재조명해 순국선열들의 숭고한 희생정신과 애국정신을 기리기 위해 마련됐다.
유족을 비롯 조근제 함안군수, 이만호 함안군의회 의장, 김상우 경남동부보훈지청장, 도의원 및 군의원, 김영선 경남도청 복지여성국장, 주민 등 약 800여명이 참석한 가운데 진행됐다.
독립선언서 낭독과 3.1절 노래 제창, 만세삼창 후 유족과 회원, 주민, 학생들은 이령분교 운동장에서 이령 삼거리까지 시가행진 재현행사를 하며 107년 전 그날의 의미를 되새겼다.
윤상철 칠북3 1독립기념회 회장은 "칠북 연개장터 만세운동은 경남 최초의 독립만세운동으로 이번 기념문화제가 그 역사적 가치를 되새기고 계승하는 뜻깊은 자리가 되기를 바란다"며 "앞으로도 연개장터에서 일어난 만세운동의 숭고한 정신을 널리 알리고 지속적으로 이어갈 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다"고 말했다.
조근제 함안군수는 "연개장터에서 경남 최초로 울려 퍼진 독립의 함성은 우리 지역이 간직한 자랑스러운 역사다"며 "나라를 위해 헌신하신 순국선열과 애국지사 여러분께 깊은 감사의 마음을 전하고 그 숭고한 희생이 헛되지 않도록 애국지사 선양사업 추진과 유가족 예우에 최선을 다하겠다"고 전했다.
