달서구청은 10일, 구가 직접 진행한 미혼남녀 만남 행사에서 만난 커플이 최근 결혼에 골인해 16번째 성혼커플이 됐다고 밝혔다. 달서구는 2016년 전국 최초로 결혼장려팀을 신설한 이후, 청년들의 눈높이에 맞춘 다양한 만남 프로그램을 꾸준히 운영해왔다.
지금까지 구에서 주관한 만남 행사를 통해 결혼에 성공한 커플은 모두 16쌍이다. 또 민·관 협력 프로그램까지 포함하면, 총 212쌍의 커플이 인연을 맺은 것으로 파악됐다.
달서구가 추진 중인 ‘잘 만나보세, 뉴(New) 새마을운동’은 새마을운동 정신을 현대적으로 재해석한 결혼 장려 사업이다. 자성, 결연, 동참 등 3대 정신을 바탕으로 결혼과 가족의 가치를 지역사회에 확산하고, 청년들의 만남과 결혼을 응원하는 문화 조성을 목표로 한다.
이번 16호 커플은 2024년 9월 장기동에서 개최된 동 특화 만남 행사 ‘요리보고 조리봐도, 또 보고 싶은 그대’에서 처음 만났다. 두 사람은 이후 꾸준히 만남을 이어왔으며, 달서구가 운영하는 ‘셀프웨딩 아카데미’ 강의를 함께 들으며 결혼을 준비했다. 그리고 지난 7일 드디어 백년가약을 맺었다.
