세종특별자치시가 여름철 집중호우에 대비해 하천의 재해 예방 기능을 강화하고, 공공 자산인 하천과 계곡의 무단 점용 행위를 뿌리 뽑기 위한 고강도 단속에 나선다.
이를 위해 세종시는 11일 하천 흐름을 방해하는 불법 시설물을 전수 조사하고 정비하기 위한 대대적인 단속 계획을 발표했다.
이번 조치는 지난달 24일 국무회의에서 이재명 대통령이 하천·계곡 내 불법 점용시설에 대한 강력한 전수조사를 지시한 데 따른 후속 조치다.
이에 세종시는 지난 9일 김하균 행정부시장을 단장으로 하는 ‘하천·계곡 구역 내 불법점용시설 전담조직(TF)’ 구성을 마쳤으며, 총 39명의 인력을 투입해 단속의 실효성을 높일 방침이다.
단속 대상은 관내 하천 195곳을 포함해 인공수로(구거), 공원 등 총 5,000여 곳에 달한다. 주요 점검 항목은 하천구역과 인접 국공유지에 무단으로 설치된 평상, 데크, 천막 등 야영 및 편의시설이다.
또한 하천의 물길을 막아 수위 상승과 범람 위험을 초래할 수 있는 불법 경작물이나 무단 식재 수목 등 지장물 전반을 집중적으로 살핀다.
