다만 그는 “정치는 마지막까지 협상과 조정이 이어지는 과정”이라며 “막판 협상에서 결론이 날 가능성도 있다”고 내다봤다.
대구 경제 회복 방안에 대해서는 세제 개편의 필요성을 재차 강조했다. 주 부의장은 “지방이 기업을 유치하려면 법인세나 상속세 등 세제에서 차별화된 인센티브가 필요하다”며 “세제 개편을 통해 기업들이 대구로 올 수 있는 환경을 조성해야 한다”고 말했다.
한편, 최근 거론되는 김부겸 전 국무총리의 대구시장 출마 가능성과 관련해선 “대구를 위해 6선 국회의원으로 쌓은 경험과 인맥을 모두 활용하겠다”며 정치적 경쟁 의지를 드러냈다.
