의성군(군수 김주수)은 행정안전부가 추진하는 ‘2026년 마을기업 육성사업’ 공모에서 지역 내 2개 기업이 마을기업으로 선정됐다고 밝혔다.
이번 공모 선정으로 의성군은 총 5천만 원의 사업비를 확보했으며, 주민과 청년이 주도하는 공동체 기반 경제활동 확대와 일자리 창출 기반을 마련하게 됐다.
마을기업은 지역 주민이 주체가 돼 지역 자원과 특성을 활용한 사업을 추진하며 지역 문제 해결과 함께 소득 창출과 일자리 확대, 공동체 활성화를 목표로 하는 마을 단위 기업이다. 사회적기업과 협동조합과 함께 지역 사회적경제를 이끄는 핵심 조직으로 평가받고 있다.
행정안전부의 마을기업 육성사업은 ▲신규 마을기업 5천만 원 ▲재지정 마을기업 3천만 원 ▲고도화 마을기업 2천만 원 등 단계별 지원을 통해 마을기업의 안정적인 성장과 자립 기반 구축을 지원한다.
이번에 (예비)마을기업으로 선정된 ‘또 와 조성리’(대표 주설희)는 구천면 조성리 주민 10명이 참여해 마을의 자연·문화 자원을 활용한 체험형 관광 프로그램을 운영할 계획이다. 민화 그리기와 압화 공예 체험 등 다양한 프로그램을 통해 농촌 체험 관광 활성화와 지역 방문객 확대가 기대된다.
또 신규 마을기업으로 지정된 ‘청세권 협동조합’(대표 민재희)은 지역 청년 6명이 중심이 돼 운영하는 기업으로, 안계면 행복플랫폼을 거점으로 플리마켓과 복합문화공간 ‘완두콩(책방)’을 기반으로 서적과 음료, 굿즈 판매 등 청년 중심의 문화·창업 콘텐츠 사업을 추진할 예정이다.
의성군은 이번 마을기업 지정을 계기로 주민 참여형 지역경제 모델을 확대하고 공동체 기반 일자리 창출을 지속적으로 지원할 계획이다.
김주수 군수는 “이번 마을기업 지정은 주민과 청년이 함께 지역 자원을 활용해 새로운 경제활동을 창출한 의미 있는 성과”라며 “앞으로도 마을기업이 지역사회와 상생하며 지속가능한 공동체 기업으로 성장할 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.

With this selection, Uiseong County has secured a total of 50 million won in project funding, laying the foundation for expanding community-based economic activities led by residents and youth, as well as creating jobs.
Village enterprises are village-level businesses driven by local residents that pursue projects utilizing local resources and characteristics, aiming to solve local problems while generating income, expanding employment, and revitalizing the community. They are recognized as key organizations leading the local social economy, alongside social enterprises and cooperatives. The Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s Village Enterprise Development Project supports the stable growth and establishment of a foundation for self-reliance of village enterprises through phased support, including 50 million won for new village enterprises, 30 million won for re-designated village enterprises, and 20 million won for advanced village enterprises.
‘Tto-wa Josong-ri’ (Representative Ju Seol-hee), selected as a (preliminary) village enterprise this time, plans to operate experiential tourism programs utilizing the village’s natural and cultural resources with the participation of 10 residents from Josong-ri, Gucheon-myeon. Through various programs such as folk painting and pressed flower craft experiences, it is expected to revitalize rural experience tourism and increase the number of local visitors.
Additionally, ‘Cheongsegwon Cooperative’ (Representative Min Jae-hee), designated as a new village enterprise, is an organization centered around six local youths. Using the Angye-myeon Happiness Platform as a base, it plans to promote youth-led cultural and entrepreneurial content businesses, such as the sale of books, beverages, and merchandise, based at the flea market and the multi-cultural space ‘Wandukong (Bookstore).’
Uiseong County plans to use this village enterprise designation as an opportunity to expand resident-participatory local economic models and continuously support community-based job creation.
County Governor Kim Ju-su stated, “This village enterprise designation is a meaningful achievement in which residents and youth together utilized local resources to create new economic activities,” adding, “We will continue to actively support village enterprises so that they can grow into sustainable community enterprises while coexisting with the local community.”
