【브레이크뉴스 칠곡】이성현 기자=경북과학대학교가 운영하는 ‘2026년 경북도민행복대학 칠곡군 캠퍼스’가 개강식을 열고 지역민을 위한 평생학습 과정에 본격 돌입했다.

경북과학대학교(총장 정은재)는 지난 12일 오전 칠곡 교육문화회관 인문학홀에서 ‘경북도민행복대학 칠곡군 캠퍼스’ 개강식을 개최했다고 밝혔다.
이날 행사에는 김재욱 칠곡군수와 정은재 총장을 비롯한 지역 관계자들이 참석한 가운데, 제6기 신입생 42명이 입학해 평생학습 여정을 시작했다.
경북도민행복대학은 경상북도가 추진하는 경북형 평생학습 플랫폼으로 1·2학기 각 15주씩 총 30주 과정으로 운영된다. 경북학과 인문학, 미래학, 시민학, 문화예술, 사회경제 등 다양한 교과를 통해 지역민의 역량 향상과 공동체 활성화를 목표로 하고 있다.
칠곡군 캠퍼스 1학기 과정은 ‘AI 시대의 인간, 노동, 그리고 교육’을 주제로 한 특강으로 시작한다. 이어 ‘맛과 멋의 인문학, 경북 식문화 오디세이’, ‘지혜로운 주민참여, 품격있는 시민’ 등 시민교육 강좌와 함께 퍼스널 브랜딩, 사주명리, 근골격 건강, 아트 목공예 등 실생활 중심의 프로그램이 운영될 예정이다.
2학기에는 생활 절세와 저출생 극복, 미래교육과 생활 속 AI, 스마트팜, 반려식물 큐레이팅, 낙동강 재발견 등 이론과 체험을 결합한 강좌가 이어지며, 오는 12월 졸업식과 학위수여식을 끝으로 제6기 교육과정이 마무리된다.
경북도민행복대학은 일정 출석과 사회참여 활동을 이수한 수료생에게 명예도민 학사학위를 수여하는 경북형 평생교육 모델로 자리 잡고 있다.
한편 칠곡군은 도민행복대학을 비롯해 학점은행제와 다양한 평생교육 과정을 운영하며 주민 학습권 확대에 힘쓰고 있으며, 경북과학대학교는 지역 산업 수요에 맞춘 교육 프로그램을 통해 지역과 대학이 상생하는 평생교육 모델 구축에 나서고 있다.

Gyeongbuk Science College (President Eun-jae Jeong) announced that it held the opening ceremony for the 'Gyeongbuk Provincial Citizens' Happiness University Chilgok Campus' on the morning of the 12th in the Humanities Hall of the Chilgok Education and Culture Center.
The event was attended by Chilgok County Mayor Jae-wook Kim, President Eun-jae Jeong, and other local officials. The 6th class of 42 students entered the campus and began their lifelong learning journey.
Gyeongbuk Provincial Citizens' Happiness University is a Gyeongbuk-style lifelong learning platform promoted by the Gyeongsangbuk-do Province. The program runs for a total of 30 weeks, with 15 weeks each in the first and second semesters. The Gyeongbuk Department aims to enhance the capabilities of local residents and revitalize the community through diverse courses such as humanities, future studies, civic studies, culture and arts, and socioeconomics.
The first semester of the Chilgok County Campus program begins with a special lecture on "Humans, Labor, and Education in the AI Era." This will be followed by civic education courses such as "Humanities of Taste and Style: A Gyeongbuk Food Culture Odyssey" and "Wise Citizen Participation, Dignified Citizens." Practical programs such as personal branding, fortune telling, musculoskeletal health, and art woodworking will also be offered.
The second semester will feature courses combining theory and experience, including tax savings and overcoming the low birth rate, future education and AI in daily life, smart farms, companion plant curating, and rediscovering the Nakdong River. The sixth semester will conclude with a graduation and degree awarding ceremony in December.
The Gyeongbuk Provincial Citizens' Happiness University is a model for lifelong education in Gyeongbuk Province, awarding honorary bachelor's degrees to students who meet certain attendance requirements and complete community engagement activities.
Meanwhile, Chilgok County is striving to expand the right to education for its residents by operating the Provincial Citizens' Happiness University, a credit bank system, and various lifelong education programs.
