일산동부경찰서는 지난 10일 일산동구 웨스턴돔 인근 도로에서 이륜차와 개인형 이동장치 등 두바퀴차의 고위험 고비난 위반행위로 인한 사고를 예방하고 반칙운전 근절을 위한 집중 단속과 계도 활동을 실시했다.

이번 단속은 한국교통안전공단과 합동으로 진행됐으며 현장에서는 교통법규 준수 안내와 함께 안전운전 캠페인도 병행됐다.
경찰에 따르면 일산동부 관내 두바퀴차 사고는 전반적으로 감소 추세를 보이고 있으나 최근 3년간 통계를 분석한 결과 봄철에 교통사고와 사망사고가 집중적으로 발생하는 것으로 나타났으며 이에 따라 경찰은 이륜차 이용자를 대상으로 고위험 위반행위의 위험성을 알리고 안전운전 요령과 주의사항을 적극 안내하는 등 예방 중심의 교통안전 활동을 펼쳤다.
또한 도로 위 반칙운전 근절 계획에 따라 유관기관과 함께하는 합동 캠페인도 동시에 진행되며 시민 참여를 유도했다.
이번 단속에서는 불법튜닝 1건을 비롯해 번호판 등 자동차관리법 안전기준 위반 7건, 도로교통법 위반 통고처분 2건, 의무보험 미가입 이륜차 1건 등 총 11건의 위반행위가 적발됐다.
