문화예술인들은 18일 오후 2시 광주광역시의회 시민소통실에서 기자회견을 열고 “전남·광주 행정 통합을 계기로 지역 문화 예술 정책이 발전할 기회로 만들어야 한다”며 “신정훈 후보가 살아온 삶이나 공약으로 볼 때 지역 문화예술의 새로운 발전을 이룰 적임자여서 지지를 선언했다”고 밝혔다.
이들은 지난 한 달여간 논의를 거쳐, 신정훈 후보가 지역 문화예술 정책을 책임 있게 추진할 적임자라고 판단했다고 설명했다. 이어 “걸어온 길이 곧 정치인의 진면목”이라며, 신 후보가 문화예술 정책 진화를 진정성 있게 구현할 수 있을 것이라고 평가했다.
