브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 중동 사태 장기화로 인한 에너지 수급 불확실성이 고조됨에 따라, 정부가 원유 관련 자원안보위기 경보를 ‘주의’ 단계로 격상하고, 강도 높은 에너지 절약 대책을 추진한다.
기후에너지환경부는 24일 열린 국무회의에서 ‘원유 관련 자원안보위기 주의 경보 발령에 따른 에너지 절약 및 대응계획’을 보고했다고 밝혔다.
앞서 정부는 지난 5일 ‘관심’ 단계를 발령한 데 이어, 상황의 엄중함을 고려해 18일자로 ‘주의’ 단계로 경보를 상향 조정한 바 있다.
먼저, 액화천연가스 소비 최소화를 위한 전원 믹스를 조정한다. 미세먼지 영향이 적은 날 미세먼지 계절관리제에 따른 석탄발전 운전 제약(80%)을 완화하고, 정비 중인 원전 5기를 5월까지 적기에 재가동, 액화천연가스 사용량을 줄여 나갈 계획이다.
강도 높은 에너지절약 조치도 시행된다. 공공부문은 선도적으로 에너지절약을 실천하기 위해 승용차 5부제(요일제)를 의무적으로 시행한다. 단, △장애인 사용 자동차 △임산부·유아(미취학 아동) 동승차량 △전기·수소차 등은 제외된다.

생활 속 에너지 절약 실천을 위한 12가지 국민행동도 적극 홍보한다. 승용차 5부제 참여하기, 대중교통 이용하기, 적정 실내온도 유지, 낮 시간대 전기차 및 휴대폰 충전하기 등 총 12개 항목으로 구성하고, 전국민의 적극적 참여를 호소할 계획이다.
이 외에도 올해 재생에너지를 7GW 이상 신속히 보급하고, 에너지저장장치(ESS) 1.3GW 설치도 함께 추진, 액화천연가스 등 에너지 수입을 근본적으로 줄여 나갈 방침이다.
