고양특례시가 세계 쇼트트랙의 중심에 선 임종언 선수(고양시청)를 환영하며 축제의 장을 마련했다.
고양시는 지난 23일, 몬트리올에서 열린 2026 ISU 세계 쇼트트랙 선수권대회에서 개인전 2관왕을 달성한 임종언 선수를 초청해 격려 오찬 및 간담회를 개최했다고 밝혔다.
이날 간담회에는 이동환 고양특례시장을 비롯해 빙상팀 지도자와 선수들이 참석해 기쁨을 나눴다.

이 시장은 임종언 선수에게 축하 꽃다발과 포상금을 전달하며, 지난 2월 2026 밀라노-코르티나 동계올림픽부터 이어진 강행군 속에서도 최고의 기량을 발휘한 점을 높이 평가했다.
