세종특별자치시가 아동의 권리가 실질적으로 보장되는 도시 생태계를 조성하기 위해 올해 157억 원 규모의 예산을 투입하며 ‘아동친화도시’로서의 위상을 공고히 한다.
앞서 세종시는 지난 23일 시청 회의실에서 ‘2026년 아동친화도시 추진위원회’ 제1차 회의를 열고, 제3기 아동친화도시 기본계획(2026~2029년)을 바탕으로 한 ‘2026년도 시행계획’을 심의·의결했다.
이번 위원회는 최민호 세종시장을 공동위원장으로 하여 유관기관 전문가, 학부모, 아동참여위원 등 총 17명의 위원이 참여해 정책의 실효성을 높이기 위한 심도 있는 자문을 나눴다.
올해 확정된 시행계획은 유엔아동권리협약이 규정한 4대 기본권인 생존·보호·발달·참여권을 보장하는 데 초점을 맞췄다. 세종시는 이를 실현하기 위해 6대 정책영역, 13개 정책과제, 35개 세부사업을 유기적으로 추진할 방침이다.

이번 사업에는 총 157억 1,000만 원의 예산이 편성됐으며, 국비 36%와 시비 64%의 비율로 투입되어 안정적인 정책 동력을 확보했다.
세종시는 지난 2017년 아동친화도시 첫 인증 이후 2021년 상위단계 인증, 그리고 2025년 재인증을 획득하며 아동 정책 분야의 선도적인 입지를 다져왔다.
