기존 하이패스 전용 나들목은 4.5톤 미만 차량만 진입이 가능해 소방차량의 경우 인터폰을 통해 관할 영업소에 진입 확인절차를 거쳐 차단기가 개방된 이후 진입할 수 있었다.
‘119 퀵 패스’는 소방차량이 하이패스 전용 나들목에 도착하면 소방차량 정보가 자동으로 감지되어 별도의 정차없이 신속한 진입이 가능하다.
이를 위해 하이패스 차로 제어기에서 소방차량 진입시 기존에 발급되어 사용중인 소방차량의 면제카드를 인식하여 자동으로 차단기를 개방할 수 있도록 시스템을 개선했다.
한국도로공사 충북본부는 이번 개선을 통해 보다 신속한 사고 대응 체계 구축과 환자의 생존과 직결되는 골든타임 확보에 크게 기여할 것으로 기대하고 있다.
