[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 시민들의 일상 속 문화 향유 기회를 확대하고 문화도시 위상을 강화하기 위해 ‘문화가 있는 날’을 기존 매달 마지막 수요일에서 매주 수요일로 확대 운영한다고 26일 밝혔다.
이번 확대는 오는 4월 1일부터 시행되는 ‘문화기본법 시행령’ 개정에 따라 시민들이 시간과 장소에 구애받지 않고 보다 일상적으로 문화예술을 접할 수 있는 기반이 마련됐다.
시는 정책 변화에 발맞춰 문화시설 무료 개방과 도서 대출 확대 등 기존 혜택을 강화하고 시민 체감도가 높은 신규 프로그램을 발굴해 생활 밀착형 문화정책을 본격 추진할 계획이다.
이에 따라 시는 진주시립이성자미술관 등 5개 문화시설이 매주 수요일 무료 개방되며 진주문화제작소 공유오피스도 개방해 시민들의 창작 활동과 문화 교류를 적극 지원한다.
또 시립도서관 7곳에서는 대출 두 배로 데이를 매주 수요일로 확대 운영해 도서 대출 권수를 최대 10권까지 늘리고 시민들의 독서 접근성과 편의성을 높일 방침이다.
또한 시는 진주 혁신도시 일원에서 구석구석 문화가 있는 날 행사를 확대해 버스킹, 마임, 벌룬, 어쿠스틱 공연 등 다양한 문화 프로그램을 연중 운영할 예정이다.
특히 시는 국립저작권박물관과 연계한 야간 개방과 공연, 시민 참여형 문화교육 프로그램 등 다양한 사업을 추진해 가족 단위 관람객과 청년층의 문화 참여 기회를 확대할 계획이다.
