【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=정부의 제2차 공공기관 이전 로드맵이 본격화되면서 괴산군이 공공기관 유치를 위한 대응체계 구축과 전략 마련에 속도를 내고 있다.
군은 지난 26일 '괴산군 공공기관 이전 대응계획 수립 연구용역' 최종보고회를 개최하고 정부의 제2차 공공기관 지방이전 정책에 대비한 지역 내 유치 타당성과 향후 과제를 점검했다.
연구용역은 군의 입지 여건과 특화 산업을 객관적으로 진단해 실현 가능한 유치 대상 기관을 도출하는 데 초점을 맞췄다.
검토 결과 지역 특화 산업인 농업 및 축산업과 연계성이 높고 관광 활성화 측면에서 시너지 효과를 낼 수 있는 한국마사회(KRA)가 주요 검토 대상으로 제시됐다.
보고서에 따르면 국토 정중앙에 위치한 우수한 광역 접근성과 청주국제공항과의 인접성을 갖춰 내·외국인 관광 수요 확보에 유리한 입지로 평가됐다.
관내 중원대학교 말산업학과와 공공승마장 등 기존 인프라를 활용할 경우 관련 전문 인력 수급과 산업 생태계 조성에 보탬이 될 것으로 분석됐다.
군은 또한 지역소멸이 가속화되는 상황에서 인구감소지역으로 공공기관 이전을 우선적으로 검토할 필요가 있다고 밝혔다.
공공기관 이전은 양질의 일자리 창출과 정주여건 개선, 지역 소비 확대 등의 파급효과가 큰 만큼 인구감소 대응과 국가 균형발전이라는 정책 목표를 달성할 수 있다는 설명이다.
