[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 박형준 시장이 부산의 미래를 결정지을 핵심 법안인 '부산 글로벌허브도시 특별법'이 국회 법제사법위원회에 상정조차 되지 못한 상황을 두고 더불어민주당을 향해 강력한 비판의 메시지를 냈다.
박 시장은 이번 사태를 부산 시민의 염원을 저버린 '정치적 횡포'로 규정하며 민주당의 이중적인 태도를 정면으로 겨냥했다.
박 시장은 30일 자신의 사회관계망서비스(SNS)를 통해 "부산 시민이 그토록 염원해온 부산 발전 특별법이 국회 법사위에 상정조차 되지 않았다"며 "법사위 상정을 막아선 것은 부산을 선거용으로만 소비해 온 더불어민주당의 민낯"이라고 강하게 비판했다.
특히 그는 민주당이 과거 쟁점 법안들을 강행 처리할 때는 무시했던 '숙려 기간'을 이번 법안의 지연 구실로 삼은 점을 꼬집었다. 박 시장은 "자신들이 악법을 강행 처리할 때는 지키지도 않던 숙려 기간을 빌미로 특별법 통과를 지연시키는 것은 부산 시민의 열망에 찬물을 끼얹고 상처를 주는 행위"라고 성토했다.
또한 부산 지역구 의원인 전재수 의원을 향해서도 "부산을 볼모로 한 정치 셈법을 보여주는 것이냐"고 반문하며 날을 세웠다. 지역 발전보다 정당의 전략적 계산을 우선시하는 태도를 멈추라는 경고다.
박 시장은 "더 이상 부산 시민을 분노케 하지 말라"며 "법안 처리가 더 늦어진다면 부산 시민과의 전쟁을 각오해야 할 것"이라는 단호한 입장을 나타냈다. 이번 법안 상정 불발로 인해 글로벌 허브도시 조성을 기대하던 부산 지역사회의 반발은 더욱 거세질 전망이다.

Busan Mayor Park Heong-joon has unleashed strong criticism against the Democratic Party of Korea (DPK) after the “Special Act on the Global Hub City of Busan,” a key bill shaping Busan’s future, failed to be placed on the agenda of the National Assembly’s Legislation and Judiciary Committee. Denouncing the situation as a “political tyranny” that betrays the wishes of Busan citizens, Mayor Park directly targeted what he called the DPK’s “double standards.”
Through his social media account, Park said, “The special act that Busan citizens have long yearned for was not even brought up for discussion in the Legislative and Judiciary Committee,” adding, “The Democratic Party, which has only exploited Busan for election purposes, has now shown its true colors.”
He also took aim at the party’s reasoning for the delay—claiming the need for a “cooling-off period”—pointing out that the DPK had ignored that very principle when it pushed through controversial bills in the past. “Using the so-called deliberation period as an excuse to delay this special act is an act that pours cold water on the hopes of Busan citizens and leaves them wounded,” he said.
Park further criticized Rep. Jeon Jae-soo, a DPK lawmaker representing a Busan district, questioning, “Is this political calculation at the expense of Busan?” He urged local lawmakers to put regional development ahead of partisan strategies.
Concluding his remarks, Park warned, “Do not further provoke the anger of Busan citizens. If this bill’s passage is delayed any longer, the Democratic Party must be prepared for a war with the people of Busan.” The failure to table the bill is expected to further intensify backlash from the local community, which had pinned hopes on the city’s vision of becoming a global hub.
