사단법인 K-POP 세계연맹(박기활 총재)는 3월31일치 보도자료에서 “사단법인 K-POP 세계연맹(박기활 총재)은 지난 3월28일 서울 SETEC 컨벤션센터에서 '제9회 K-POP AWARDS'와 『K-POP 올림픽 선언』 출판기념회를 개최했다”고 알렸다.
이 보도자료에 따르면, 이 행사는 K-POP의 핵심 가치를 'Concert(공연)'에서 'Contest(경연)'로 전환하고, 이를 통해 전 세계를 하나로 묶는 '문화 올림픽' 플랫폼 구축을 공식화하는 자리가 되었다. 현장에는 박희영 K-POP 세계연맹 명예총재, 안세환 상임의장, 강수완 한국유권자중앙회 총재, 김용주 재경대구경북도민회 총재, 남인희 드림크루즈 회장 등 주요 내빈과 각국의 주한대사 및 대사 의 부인 등 30여 개국 KCOC 대표위원들이 참석해 자리를 빛냈다.
이번 선언의 핵심은 국가대표 선발형 오디션 시스템과 리그전 기반의 챔피언십 구조. KCOC는 오는 11월까지 120개국 네트워크 완성을 목표로 하고 있으며, 이를 통해 전 세계인이 자국 대표를 응원하며 참여하는 새로운 형태의 문화 월드컵을 구현할 계획이다. 박기활 총재는 "K-POP은 이제 인류를 연결하는 공통 언어"라며, "체계적인 경연 시스템을 통해 월드컵을 능가하는 글로벌 문화 축제의 장을 만들겠다"고 강조했다.

이날 행사의 백미는 박기활 총재의 저서 『K-POP 올림픽 선언』 출판기념회였다. 박기활 총재는 기조연설을 통해 “"K-POP은 이제 인류를 연결하는 공통 언어"라며, 앞으로는 한국아이돌 스타 중심의 공연(Concert)을 넘어 팬덤이 주도하는 글로벌 경연(Contest)으로 진화할 것”이라며, 120개 회원국을 기반으로 한 ‘문화 올림픽’의 청사진을 공개했다. 향후 KCOC는 국가별 예선과 본선 리그를 구체화하여 전 세계 팬들이 자국의 아티스트와 함께 호흡하는 참여형 비즈니스 모델을 확산시킬 예정이다. 이를 통해 한류의 영토를 전 세계로 확장하고 지속 가능한 문화 산업 에코시스템을 구축한다는 전략이다.

The World K-POP Federation (President Park Ki-hwal) announced in a press release dated March 31 that “the World K-POP Federation (President Park Ki-hwal) successfully held the ‘9th K-POP Awards’ and the book launch ceremony for the ‘K-POP Olympic Declaration’ at the SETEC Convention Center in Seoul on March 28.”
According to the press release, this event served as an occasion to formalize the establishment of a ‘Cultural Olympics’ platform that unites the world by shifting the core value of K-POP from ‘Concert’ to ‘Contest.’ The event was graced by the presence of distinguished guests, including Park Hee-young, Honorary President of the World K-POP Federation; Ahn Se-hwan, Standing Chairman; Kang Su-wan, President of the Central Voters Association of Korea; Kim Yong-ju, President of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Residents Association in Seoul; and Nam In-hee, Chairman of Dream Cruises, as well as representatives from over 30 countries, including ambassadors to Korea and their wives.
The core of this declaration is a national team selection audition system and a league-based championship structure. The KCOC aims to complete a network of 120 countries by this coming November, planning to realize a new form of cultural World Cup where people from around the world participate and cheer for their national representatives. President Park Ki-hwal emphasized, "K-POP is now a common language connecting humanity," adding, "We will create a venue for a global cultural festival that surpasses the World Cup through a systematic competition system."
The highlight of the day was the book launch for President Park Ki-hwal's book, *The K-POP Olympic Declaration*. In his keynote speech, President Park Ki-hwal stated, “K-POP is now a common language connecting humanity,” and unveiled a blueprint for a “Cultural Olympics” based on 120 member countries, adding that it will evolve beyond concerts centered on Korean idol stars into global contests led by fandoms. Moving forward, the KCOC plans to expand participatory business models that allow fans worldwide to connect with their own national artists by concretizing national preliminary and final leagues. The strategy is to expand the territory of the Korean Wave globally and establish a sustainable cultural industry ecosystem.
