이날 이사회에서는 2026년 장학생 선발 규정(안)을 비롯한 총 8건의 안건을 심의·의결했다.
이사회에서 확정된 2026년 장학생 선발 규모는 성적우수, 특기, 다자녀 등 13개 분야에서 총 814명으로 지난해 선발인원보다 144명 증가했다.
장학금 지급액 역시 전년 대비 1억1570만원 늘어난 6억2960만원으로 확대됐다.
특히 올해는 일부 분야에서 장학생 선발 대상을 외국인까지 확대했다. 이는 음성군 내 외국인 인구가 지속적으로 증가하는 추세를 반영한 것으로 그동안 신청이 제한됐던 우수한 외국인 학생들도 올해부터는 장학금을 지원받을 수 있게 됐다.
