[브레이크뉴스경기남부=수원 이현준기자] 경기도의회 도시환경위원회 김옥순 의원은 지난 31일 의왕 미래교육센터 착공식에 참석해 사업 착공을 축하하고 성공적인 준공을 기원했다.
의왕 미래교육센터는 내손동 일원에 지하 2층에서 지상 4층 규모로 조성되는 사업으로 총사업비 473억 원이 투입되며 2028년 상반기 준공을 목표로 약 2년간 추진될 예정이다.
해당 시설에는 인공지능 등 4차 산업혁명 핵심 기술을 접목한 로봇 교육실과 드론 체험장 및 진로체험관 등이 들어설 계획이며 지역 청소년들에게 미래 첨단 산업을 체험하고 학습할 수 있는 교육 거점 역할을 할 것으로 기대된다.
김옥순 의원은 의왕 미래교육센터가 인공지능과 로봇 및 드론 등 미래 핵심 기술을 직접 체험하고 학습할 수 있는 공간으로 지역 청소년들이 변화하는 산업 환경에 선제적으로 대응할 수 있는 역량을 키우는 데 큰 역할을 할 것이라고 말했다.
