【브레이크뉴스 대구】박영재 기자=고(故) 박해수 시인의 유고 시집 '죽도록 보고 싶으면 기차를 타자'가 출간됐다. 박해수기념사업회는 이번 시집을 통해 한 시인의 삶과 문학적 여정을 되새기고, 그의 시 세계를 오늘의 독자들에게 다시 전하고자 한다고 밝혔다.
박 시인은 정지된 풍경 속에서도 고유한 시간과 정서를 품은 ‘그곳만의 풍경’에 매혹돼 온 시인으로, 1985년 대학가요제 대상곡 '바다에 누워'의 작시자로 널리 알려진 ‘바다의 시인’이다. 이후 2000년대 들어서는 사라져가는 간이역을 시로 기록하며 ‘간이역 시인’이라는 별칭을 얻었다.
그의 간이역에 대한 관심은 1938년 어머니가 남긴 한 장의 사진, ‘철로에 서 있는 부평의 마음’을 마주하면서 시작됐다. 이를 계기로 박 시인은 전국의 간이역을 찾아다니며 시적 기록을 이어갔다. 특히 2005년 대구문화방송 기획 ‘경부철도 100년, 현대시 100년’ 프로젝트를 통해 고모역을 비롯한 대구·경북 지역 10개 간이역에 시비가 세워지며 그의 작품 세계는 지역 문화로 확장됐다.
이번에 출간된 유고 시집 '죽도록 보고 싶으면 기차를 타자'는 북한 간이역을 순례하며 남긴 시편들을 엮은 것으로, 시인이 생전에 남긴 마지막 언어의 기록이다. 이름 없이 스쳐 지나던 북녘의 간이역들은 시 속에서 다시 호흡하며, 멈춰 선 시간과 사라지지 않는 기억들을 깊은 울림으로 전한다.
박 시인은 분단의 경계 위에서도 인간에 대한 따뜻한 시선을 잃지 않았으며, 그리움과 기다림, 침묵의 의미를 절제된 언어로 담아냈다는 평가를 받는다. 이번 시집 역시 그러한 시 세계의 정수가 담긴 작품으로, 독자들에게 잔잔한 여운을 남긴다.
박해수기념사업회 관계자는 “이번 유고 시집 출간은 한 시인의 문학적 유산을 기리는 동시에, 그의 시가 오늘의 시대 속에서도 다시 살아 숨 쉬길 바라는 마음을 담았다”고 말했다.

[Break News] Reporter Park Young-jae = The posthumous poetry collection of the late poet Park Hae-soo, titled *Let's Take a Train If You Miss Me So Much*, has been published. The Park Hae-soo Memorial Society stated that through this collection, they aim to reflect on the poet's life and literary journey and to re-convey his poetic world to today's readers.
Poet Park was a poet who was captivated by "landscapes unique to that place," which harbor a distinct sense of time and emotion even within static scenery. He is widely known as the "Poet of the Sea" for writing the lyrics to "Lying on the Sea," the winning song of the 1985 University Song Festival. Later, entering the 2000s, he earned the nickname "Poet of Small Stations" by documenting disappearing small train stations in his poetry.
His interest in small stations began in 1938 when he encountered a photograph left by his mother titled "The Heart of Bupyeong Standing on the Railroad Tracks." Inspired by this, Poet Park traveled across the country visiting small stations to continue his poetic documentation. In particular, his literary world expanded into local culture as poetry monuments were erected at 10 small stations in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions, including Gomo Station, through the Daegu MBC project "100 Years of Gyeongbu Railway, 100 Years of Modern Poetry" in 2005.
The recently published posthumous poetry collection, *Let's Take a Train If You Miss Me So Much*, compiles poems written during a pilgrimage to small stations in North Korea, serving as the poet's final record of language during his lifetime. The nameless stations of the North, which were once merely fleeting pasts, breathe anew within the poems, conveying the stopped time and unfading memories with a profound resonance.
Poet Park is praised for never losing his warm perspective on humanity even on the border of division, and for capturing the meanings of longing, waiting, and silence through restrained language. This collection, too, embodies the essence of such a poetic world, leaving a gentle lingering impression on readers.
An official from the Park Hae-soo Memorial Foundation stated, “The publication of this posthumous poetry collection honors the poet’s literary legacy while also expressing the hope that his poetry will live on and breathe again in today’s era.”
