[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 양산시는 교통약자의 이동권 보장 및 이용 수요 증가에 대응하기 위해 7일부터 신규 47대의 바우처택시를 추가 투입해 총 137대가 본격적인 운행에 나선다고 밝혔다.
바우처택시는 평소에는 일반 택시 영업을 하다가, 교통약자의 이용 신청이 접수되면 배차 서비스를 제공하는 제도다.
시는 지난 2월 20일부터 진행된 신규 사업자 모집 및 심사 과정을 거쳐 최종 47명의 운송사업자를 선발했으며, 이들에 대한 단말기 설치, 운행 교육 등 운행 준비를 모두 마쳤다.
이를 통해 휠체어를 이용하지 않는 교통약자들의 분산 이용을 유도함으로써, 교통약자 특별교통수단(교통약자 콜택시)의 고질적인 문제였던 배차 대기시간을 단축할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
양산시 관계자는 “이번 바우처택시 대규모 확충은 이동에 불편을 겪는 시민들의 목소리를 적극 반영한 결과”라며 “앞으로도 교통약자들이 안전하고 편리하게 이동할 수 있는 서비스를 제공하도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
한편, 바우처택시 이용 대상은 양산시에 주소를 둔 비휠체어 이용 중증보행장애인, 장기요양등급 1~3등급 대상자, 보행에 불편이 있는 임산부 등으로, 주소지 행정복지센터에서 회원 신청 후 이용할 수 있다.
