공교육의 디지털 전환을 이끌 교사들이 인공지능(AI) 전문가로 거듭나기 위한 첫발을 뗐다.
충남교육청은 7일 아산 캠코인재개발원에서 ‘2026년 교육대학원 연계 인공지능 융합교육 역량 강화 사업’ 입학설명회를 열고 도내 교사들과 6개 협약 대학 관계자들의 열띤 참여를 이끌어 냈다.
교육청은 선발된 교사 172명에게 석사 과정 동안 학기당 최대 200만 원의 수업료를 지원하며 경제적 부담 없이 전문 지식을 습득할 환경을 마련한다.
참여 교사들은 대학별로 특성화된 인공지능 융합 교육 과정을 한자리에서 비교하며 독학으로 도달하기 어려웠던 전문 영역에 도전할 실질적인 동력을 얻었다.
학위를 취득한 교원들은 충남교육청의 인공지능 교육 강사나 정책 추진단으로 활동하며 현장에 적합한 교육 모델을 전파하는 ‘이끎 교사’ 역할을 수행할 것으로 알려졌다.
김지철 교육감은 우수 교원을 확보해 현장의 선도적 교육 모델이 확산하는 선순환 체계를 구축하고 교사들이 미래 교육의 주역이 되도록 적극적으로 지원하겠다고 강조했다.
사업 참여를 희망하는 교사는 소속 학교장의 추천을 거쳐 오는 23일까지 관련 서류를 공문으로 제출해야 한다.
교육청은 대학별 자체 전형과 서류 심사를 마무리한 뒤 오는 6월 중 최종 대상자를 확정해 인공지능 융합 교육의 전문가 집단을 체계적으로 육성할 방침이다.
