청주대는 10일 청주 중앙공원 YMCA 다락방 무료급식소에서 염태호 행정부총장 등 교직원과 학생 30여 명이 참여한 가운데 지역 어르신 300여 명에게 무료로 점심 나누기 봉사를 했다.
이 자리에 YMCA 봉사원들도 함께해 육개장과 떡, 음료 등을 어르신들께 대접하며 따뜻한 마음을 전했다.
청주대는 건학이념 계승과 지역사회 공헌을 실천하고자 지난 2001년부터 매해 봄·가을 두 차례에 걸쳐 무료급식 봉사활동을 펼치고 있다.
코로나 팬데믹 기간이었던 2020~2022년에는 잠시 중단했다가 2023년부터 봉사활동을 재개했다.
청주대 김윤배 총장은 “청주의 역사를 한눈에 볼 수 있는 중앙공원에서 23년째 점심나누기 봉사활동을 펼칠 수 있어 기쁘다”며 “79년의 역사를 자랑하는 전통 깊은 대학으로서 앞으로 청주대는 지역사회 기여는 물론 지역과 함께 발전하는 대학이 되기 위해 최선을 다할 것”이라고 말했다.

Cheongju University is establishing itself as a “university that works together with the community” by continuing its “Sharing Lunch with Love” volunteer activities at Cheongju Central Park for the 23rd year.
