(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천대학교가 최근 ‘지역동행플랫폼 24차 지역현안 토론회’를 ‘송도 워터프런트 K-도심형 마리나 클러스터 구축방안’을 주제로 개최했다고 밝혔다.
인천대에 따르면, 토론회는 지난 10일에 열렸으며 이날 지역 주민을 비롯해 공동 주최 기관인 인천학회와 인천마리나협회 회원, 인천시 관계자 등 관심 있는 70여 명이 참석한 가운데 진행됐다.
행사를 주최한 인천대학교 이준한 기획부총장의 인사말과 행사를 주관한 지역동행플랫폼 홍진배 단장(국제대외협력처장)의 환영사 그리고 인천학회 김경배 회장의 축사가 이어졌다.
또한, 김천권 인천학회 고문이 좌장을 맡아 토론회를 진행했다.

특히, 체험·교육·이벤트 중심의 복합 모델과 단계적 투자 로드맵을 통해 글로벌 해양관광 도시로 도약하고 지속 가능한 산업 생태계를 구축해야 한다는 점을 강조했다.
이어진 토론에서 제1발제와 관련해 정우철 인하공업전문대학 기계공학과 교수는 국내 해양레저 산업이 마리나 인프라 부족으로 성장에 한계를 겪고 있으며 도심형 마리나 확충이 산업 발전의 핵심 과제라고 밝혔다.
특히, 인천은 공항과 연계된 입지와 산업 기반을 갖춘 만큼 송도를 중심으로 한 도심형 마리나 구축을 통해 아시아 해양 MICE 허브로 도약할 필요성을 강조했다.
우승범 인하대학교 해양과학과 교수는 수도권 레저보트 수요가 급증하고 있음에도 불구하고 마리나 계류시설과 정비 인프라가 절대적으로 부족해 송도 10공구에 도심형 MRO 단지 조성이 필요하다고 밝혔다.
다만 해당 부지가 항만배후부지로 지정된 만큼 해양수산부와의 용도 변경 등 정책적 선결과제가 필요하며, AI·디지털 트윈 기반 스마트 MRO 구축과 인재양성 생태계 조성, 인천 해상풍력과의 연계 및 R&D 연구용역 추진의 필요성도 함께 제기했다.
제1발제 마지막 토론자로 나선 허양호 인천경제청 송도사업본부 마리나추진단장은 송도 워터프런트 2단계 사업과 관련해 해양·수변공간의 공공적 활용과 마리나 기반 조성을 통해 복합 해양레저도시로의 전환 필요성을 제시했다.
특히, 증가하는 해양레저 수요와 시민 접근성의 한계를 고려할 때 마리나 인프라 확충과 친수·체험 중심 개발이 핵심 과제임을 강조했다.

제2발제 마지막 토론자로 나선 올댓송도 커뮤니티 카페 김성훈 대표는 민간 관점에서 송도 워터프런트가 단순 공공개발을 넘어 콘텐츠·상업·관광이 결합된 수익형 해양레저 플랫폼으로 구축되어야 한다고 밝혔다.
특히, 민간 참여 확대와 차별화된 체류형 콘텐츠 개발을 통해 도심속 마리나를 넘어 일상속 마리나로 구축할 것을 제안했다.
인천대학교 지역동행플랫폼 홍진배 단장은 “이번 토론회를 통해 도출된 정책 제안과 산업 전략을 바탕으로 후속 연구와 정책과제를 구체화하고 지역 해양산업 경쟁력 강화를 위한 협력 거버넌스를 지속적으로 확대해 나갈 계획”이라고 밝혔다.
