이번 대회는 관내 초등학교 92명의 학생이 참가하여 학교 규모에 따라 1부와 2부로 나누어 경합을 벌였다. 경기는 남초 4·5학년부 및 6학년부, 여초 4·5학년부 및 6학년부 등 총 4개 종목으로 진행되었으며, 참가 학생들은 그동안 아침 시간과 틈새 시간을 활용한 ‘어디서나 운동장’ 몸활동으로 갈고닦은 실력을 유감없이 발휘했다.
이번 예선대회에서 종목별 1위를 차지한 입상교는 오는 6월 음성군에서 개최되는 ‘제25회 충청북도교육감기 동아리축구대회’에 영동군 대표로 출전하여 다시 한번 기량을 겨룰 예정이다.
