대전의 근대 건축 유산을 품은 문화 공간 ‘테미오래’가 장애 여부와 관계없이 누구나 자유롭게 향유할 수 있는 ‘무장애 문화 거점’으로 새롭게 도약한다.
대전문화재단이 테미오래가 한국장애인문화예술원에서 주관하는 ‘2026년 무장애 문화향유 활성화 지원사업’에 최종 선정되어 국비 8,000만 원을 지원받는다고 15일 밝혔다.
이번 사업은 문화 시설의 문턱을 낮춰 장애인의 접근성을 개선하고, 누구나 평등하게 예술을 즐길 수 있는 환경을 조성하는 데 목적을 두고 있다. 테미오래는 이번 공모 선정을 계기로 국가등록문화유산 및 시지정문화유산인 옛 도지사 관사촌을 활용한 ‘함께 누리는 문화유산’ 프로젝트를 본격 가동한다.
주요 추진 계획으로는 장애인과 비장애인이 함께 감상할 수 있는 무장애 특화 기획전이 마련된다. 특히 대전맹학교, 대전손소리복지관 등 지역 내 전문 기관과 협력 체계를 구축해 점자 리플릿 제작 ,농인을 위한 수어 해설 서비스 ,시각 및 청각 장애인을 위한 맞춤형 접근성 서비스 등을 도입할 예정이다.
이를 통해 테미오래는 근대 건축물이라는 물리적 한계를 넘어, 모든 시민이 문화유산의 가치를 온전히 체험하고 감상할 수 있는 포용적 문화 공간으로 자리매김할 것으로 기대된다.
백춘희 대전문화재단 대표이사는 “지난해 대전문학관에서 거둔 무장애 사업의 성과를 올해는 테미오래로 확장하여 추진하게 됐다”며 “문화 향유는 모든 시민이 누려야 할 보편적 권리인 만큼, 대전문화재단이 지역 내 무장애 문화 환경을 확산하는 데 앞장서겠다”고 강조했다.
한편, 테미오래는 대전의 옛 충청남도 관사촌을 문화 예술 공간으로 재생한 곳으로, 이번 국비 확보를 통해 지역 문화유산 보존과 장애 친화적 복지 행정을 결합한 모범 사례를 만들어갈 방침이다.
