충남 논산시가 국방의 의무를 이행 중인 지역 청년들을 위해 촘촘한 안전망을 구축한다. 군 복무 중 예상치 못한 사고나 질병으로부터 청년과 그 가족들을 보호하기 위한 실질적인 지원책을 내놓은 것이다.

이번 지원 사업의 가장 큰 특징은 ‘편의성’과 ‘실효성’이다. 논산시에 주소를 둔 현역 입영 청년이라면 누구나 별도의 신청 과정 없이 입대와 동시에 자동으로 가입된다. 혜택을 받기 위한 복잡한 절차를 없애 수혜 대상에서 누락되는 사례를 방지했다.
보장 범위 또한 폭넓다. 군 복무 중 발생하는 상해나 질병으로 인한 사망 및 후유장해 발생 시 최대 5,000만 원의 보험금이 지급된다. 이 밖에도 진단비, 위로금, 입원비 등 총 13개 항목에 걸쳐 든든한 보상을 제공한다.
