국립창원대 최희규 교수, 국무총리 표창 수상

[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 국립창원대학교 메카융합공학과 최희규 교수가 대한민국 과학기술의 미래를 설계하는 핵심 브레인이자 지역 사회의 파수꾼으로서 그 공로를 정부로부터 공식 인정받았다.

창원대학교는 21일 서울 한국과학기술회관에서 열린 ‘2026년 과학의 날 기념식’에서 최희규 교수가 국가 과학기술 혁신과 진흥에 기여한 유공자로 선정되어 ‘국무총리 표창’을 수상했다고 밝혔다.

최 교수의 이번 수상은 ‘정책과 현장의 융합’이라는 측면에서, 현재 우리나라 우주 정책의 최고 의사결정 기구인 ‘대한민국 국가우주위원회 위원’으로 활동하며, 대한민국이 우주 강국으로 도약하기 위한 로드맵을 그리는 데 중추적인 역할을 하고 있다.

또한 교육부 이공분야 학술연구지원사업 종합심의위원, 창원특례시 기술창업자문위원 등을 거치며 중앙정부의 거대 담론이 지역 기술 창업 현장에 실질적으로 투영될 수 있도록 ‘정책 가교’ 역할을 수행해왔다.
