【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=포스코청암재단이 2026년도 포스코청암상 시상식을 열고 각 분야 수상자를 발표했다.
포스코청암재단은 22일 서울 대치동 포스코센터에서 시상식을 개최했다. 올해 행사는 제정 20주년을 맞아 역대 수상자와 전·현직 그룹 경영진 등 약 200명이 참석한 가운데 진행됐다.
2026년 수상자는 ▲과학상 최경수 고등과학원 교수 ▲교육상 서울여자상업고등학교 ▲봉사상 최연수 ▲기술상 정기로 등이다.
포스코청암상은 박태준 명예회장의 업적과 창업정신을 기리기 위해 2006년 제정됐으며, 2007년부터 올해까지 총 72명의 수상자를 배출했다. 부문별로는 과학 20명, 교육 21명, 봉사 22명, 기술 9명이다. 재단은 20주년을 맞아 올해부터 부문별 상금을 기존 2억 원에서 3억 원으로 인상했다.
장인화 이사장은 환영사에서 “포스코청암상은 지난 20년간 사회 각 분야의 혁신을 이끈 인물을 발굴해왔다”며 “앞으로도 인재 육성을 통해 더 나은 사회를 만드는 데 기여하겠다”고 밝혔다.
제1회 과학상 수상자인 임지순 교수는 축사를 통해 “포스코청암상은 우리 사회의 방향을 제시해온 이정표 역할을 해왔다”고 평가했다.
과학상 수상자인 최경수 교수는 곡률 흐름 연구를 통해 편미분방정식과 미분기하학을 결합한 성과로 국제적 주목을 받고 있다. 교육상 수상기관인 서울여자상업고등학교는 실무 중심 교육과 ‘선취업 후학습’ 모델로 높은 취업률을 유지해온 직업교육 기관이다.
봉사상 수상자인 최연수 이사는 30여 년간 위기 청소년 지원 활동을 이어오며 교육·상담·자립 지원 체계를 구축했다. 기술상 수상자인 정기로 대표는 반도체·디스플레이 장비 국산화를 주도하며 산업 경쟁력 강화에 기여했다.
포스코청암재단은 “앞으로도 사회적 가치 확산에 기여할 인물과 기관을 지속적으로 발굴해 나갈 계획”이라고 밝혔다.

The POSCO Cheongam Award was established in 2006 to commemorate the achievements and founding spirit of Honorary Chairman Park Tae-joon, and has produced a total of 72 winners from 2007 to this year. By category, there are 20 winners in science, 21 in education, 22 in service, and 9 in technology. To mark its 20th anniversary, the Foundation has increased the prize money per category from the previous 200 million won to 300 million won starting this year.
In his welcoming remarks, Chairperson Jang In-hwa stated, “Over the past 20 years, the POSCO Cheongam Award has discovered individuals who have led innovation in various sectors of society,” adding, “We will continue to contribute to building a better society through the nurturing of talent.”
Professor Lim Ji-soon, the recipient of the first Science Award, remarked in his congratulatory speech, “The POSCO Cheongam Award has served as a milestone guiding the direction of our society.”
Professor Choi Kyung-soo, the recipient of the Science Award, is receiving international attention for his achievements combining partial differential equations and differential geometry through his research on curvature flow. Seoul Women’s Commercial High School, the recipient of the Education Award, is a vocational education institution that has maintained a high employment rate through practical-oriented education and a “pre-employment, post-learning” model.
Director Choi Yeon-soo, the recipient of the Service Award, has established a system of education, counseling, and self-reliance support while continuing support activities for at-risk youth for over 30 years. CEO Jeong Gi-ro, a recipient of the Technology Award, contributed to strengthening industrial competitiveness by leading the localization of semiconductor and display equipment.
The POSCO Cheongam Foundation stated, "We plan to continue identifying individuals and organizations that will contribute to the spread of social values."
