브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 현대중공업의 질병에 의한 산재사고 비율이 절반 이상인 것으로 나타났다.
22일 임이자 국민의힘 의원이 고용노동부로부터 제출받은 ‘2017~2020년 현대중공업 산재사고 발생 현황’자료에 따르면, 현대중공업의 산재사고는 매년 증가 추세를 보이고 있다.
현대중공업의 2017년 전체 산재사고는 374건으로 이 중 질병에 의한 산재 건수는 69.7%인 261건이다.
2018년은 전체 402건 중 292건(72.6%), 2019년은 전체 534건 중 383건(71.7%), 2020년은 전체 527건 중 320건(60.7%)으로 나타났다.
임 의원실측은 조선업의 특성상 작업 현장에서 소음이 많이 발생하고 중량물 등을 취급하는 관계로 대부분이 업무상 직업 질병임을 감안해도 계속해서 산재사고가 증가하는 것은 심각한 문제라고 지적했다.
이어 전체 직업병 산재 승인 건수 중‘난청’의 비율은 61%,‘근골격계질환’의 비율은 36%로 두 질병이 전체의 97%를 차지하고 있다.
현대중공업은 임직원의 건강을 위해 사내에 부속의원 물리치료실, 재활치료실, 한방병원, 심리상담실 운영 및 전문의료진이 사업장 내 상시 근무 중이며, 협력회사를 포함한 모든 임직원이 건강상담과 진료를 받을 수 있는 체계를 구축하는 등 매년 약 60억원을 투자하고 있다.
하지만, 대부분의 업무상 질병은 소음성 난청과 근골격계 질환임에도 소음성 난청을 위한 예산은 따로 배정하지 않고 있으며, 근골격계 예방 프로그램은 2016년도 1,800만원에서 2020년도 7,600만원으로 상승했으나 전체 예산의 1%에도 못미치는 것으로 확인됐다.
이에 대해 임이자 의원은 “현대중공업은 중대재해 산재 사망사고 발생율이 매우 높은 대표적인 기업”이라며 “산재 원인을 분석하고도 엇박자 대책으로 인해 산재 건수가 지속적으로 증가하고 있다”고 밝혔다.
또한 “사망사고의 경우 비슷한 장소와 유사한 원인이 반복적으로 발생하고 있다”며 “질병 산재사고 예방을 위한 예산 증액을 비롯해 산재 사고를 근절시킨 근본적인 대책을 마련해야 한다”고 강조했다.
